Aerial Runway training
If you are wish to book and use the Aerial Runway at Glenny Wood you will need to go through a local training course to enable you to safely use the equipment.
If you wish to undertake the training please click on the link below and let us know of your interest.
Firstly please read through the notes below with regards to the training and using the Aerial Runway.
To run the Aerial Runway is a complex activity which is labour intensive, physical and time consuming.
When considering this activity and before requesting training please take the following factors into account:-
1 - There are detailed instructions which must be followed.
2 - To set the runway up and test it to be ready to use takes around 1 hour.
3 - setting the runway up does require lifting of ropes, water barrels and tying knots etc...
4 - 6 adults are needed to manage the runway operations on each occasion. It is not safe to have less. This must include the trained operator, who will be responsible for briefing the others.
5 - Although harnessed on the operation requires two people on a platform around 10 feet off the ground.
6 - Two adults will physically have to assist the riders off the runway at the bottom.
7 - A level of paperwork and accountability is required, with the following and ticking off of the factsheet instructions and signing to confirm you have completed the tasks.
The training will be a pass - fail event, both on understanding of the training during the practice session and the Q & A sheet at the end.
The factsheet must be read thoroughly prior to the training.
The Aerial runway is great fun and with the training it is there fore you to use... so I look forward to receiving training interest, the above is so you go to the training with your eyes open and you appreciate what you are “letting yourself in for”.
