Boundary Trail

Glenny Wood Boundary Trail

This activity is a chance for you to explore Glenny and have a lot of fun discovering most of the boundaries of Glenny Wood, plus enjoying a challenging walk and tasks set around the trail. The Boundary trail is a circular walk around Glenny Wood and is about 1.5 miles to walk from start to finish over rough woodland terrain.

The trail is well signposted with coloured signs for the different sections. All signs are numbered and have a red rabbit on them. So don’t forget to look out for and follow the Red Rabbits on the trail signs.

So don't forget to follow the Red Rabbit on the trail and have fun and be safe.

When following the trail, you will go to parts of Glenny Wood you have never ventured to before and it provides great challenges plus lots of information and quizzes about the Woodlands, Scouting, Local History of the site and how Glenny Wood has developed.

When taking part in the trail you can complete it all or you can do some of the sections and finish. Which ever good luck and enjoy.

In this section we have provided specific information to assist you as leaders when running the activity.

1 - The Draft Risk Assessment (RA) has been created to make your life easier, so you just need to update to suit your section requirements along with the weather and ground conditions at the time. This draft was developed using the experience of the Glenny team. Please do make sure you read through in detail and amend as required.

We recommend you print both the RA and FS off to use on the activity.

2 - For your Young People a couple of pencils and a clip board per group to use would be just the job.

3 - We also recommend you print off and take with you the Boundary Trail Map and all the items via the links in the Woodlands and Views section number 1 below, as the boards and questions in this section are about what you can see on the first part of the trail.

4 - The Questions are all on Information boards you come to along the trail. The answers can be accessed via QR codes on the boards or you can print them off via the links below.
