During 2025, it is the Glenny Wood 60th anniversary. An opportunity to celebrate our Diamond Anniversary of Scouting at Glenny Wood. Our aim and hope is that the celebrations involve those Scouting across Gordano Scout District and our other site users from further afield.

The Glenny Wood 60th Anniversary Challenge Badges

The Glenny Wood 60th Anniversary Challenge is primarily for the Young People using Glenny Wood Scout Campsite. The details of each of the stages for the badge are below. We encourage those taking part to think about the needs of their team and adapt the various activities so everyone can join in.

The badges are to be completed at Glenny Wood Campsite, over as many visits as you choose and those camping on site for 3 nights or more can complete all the three stages, consecutively in stage order.

The Young People undertaking the badge and their leaders set the standards of achievement. The aim is to encourage everyone joining in, to improve their skills, levels of achievement, to step outside of their comfort zone and not just go for the easy option. We ask all those joining in to really challenge themselves, try many new activities, be creative in what they do and set challenging targets, that are relevant to the age, skills and capabilities…

We also encourage Adults to join in the Glenny Wood 60th Anniversary Challenge. To maximise flexibility and time at Glenny Wood adults should select what they intend to do for each stage, across the age groups with the minimum number of tasks as per the Scout Section. This is then all about participation, doing something different and again we very much encourage you to step outside your comfort zone!
