Glenny Wood Scout Camp Site
Such great place to visit and stay
During 2025, it is the Glenny Wood 60thanniversary. An opportunity to celebrate our Diamond Anniversary of Scouting at Glenny Wood. Our aim and hope is that the celebrations involve those Scouting across Gordano Scout District and our site users from further afield.
We have a fabulous badge for everyone too wear in Gordano and those who use the site
We are also introducing a 60th Anniversary Challenge comprising of three parts with a badge for each part.
Full details please visit over special 60th page
We are creating a new and unique area within the Glenny Wood campsite which will be our fantastic Wild Camping and Backwoods activities area. This will be intentionally very basic and wild. This is the type of area which now-a-days is not often available and will be a great place to try something new, step out of your comfort zone, learn new skills, and having a lot of fun.

Keeping Glenny Wood safe, clean and tidy is a key area for the team. Over the years I have often mentioned the maintenance work we have undertaken along with the development activities completed.
There is also a lot of other regular work completed behind the scenes that is so essential and is not seen.
Therefore to give you an idea of what happens please read on….
We look forward to welcoming members of the Scout and Guide Association to visit us for an evening / day and to stay with us, either camping, using the lodge or both
We also welcome D of E Groups, Schools, along with other organisations with a similar ethos to that of The Scout Association
When planning your next event think of us as Glenny is a great place for you to choose.
And don't forget we have a fabulous range of on site activities to challenge and help develop your skills and experiences.
Sorry no individual or Family camping as we are not a commercial campsite.
Glenny Wood Scout Camp Site is ideally situated to explore the local area. We are close to the City of Bristol, which has many attractions and activities available
Also within easy reach are the seaside towns of Portishead, Clevedon and
Weston Super Mare.
Mendips and Cheddar village is but a short journey. This area is famous for its Gorge, ideal for Walking, Climbing and Caving.
The ski slope at Churchill is also not far away
For 2025 we have decided that there will be no increase in fees. We believe with all the Camping areas, evening opportunities, Activities and Campfires we offer great value for Scouting and to other organisations.
