GLENNY WOOD AND COVID 19

A lot of work has been undertaken to adapted Glenny Wood during these difficult COVID-19 times. Whilst the status is now YELLOW we are fully open, we do expect the recommendations and good practice to be followed, and socal distancing maintained.

In reviewing our site the overriding priority, as always, is to ensure the safety of all those using Glenny Wood for Scouting and other activities and that of our small team who manage the site.

So, what changes have been made for the Safety of those using Glenny Wood?

  • Glenny Wood Covid-19 Risk Assessment has been undertaken and written down. This has been updated to reflect the recent rules changes >>>>

  • All non-residential activities (including young people, Scout Network and adult only groups): No limit on group size, although all activities must be able to safely manage the risk of transmission of COVID and, if this is not possible, they must not take place.

  • Similar guidelines must be available for other youth organisations to enable residential experiences at Glenny Wood otherwise default to the Scout Association guidelines.

  • Hand Sanitizer available to use

    • Each section / unit using Glenny Wood will be expected to clean the loos they have used as per the RA.

Once completed please enter this action has been completed on the clip board with the cleaning kit

    • QR code - I have added a QR code sheet from the Government track and trace system, which you may wish to use to show you have been at Glenny Wood. All members of your party, who are 16 years of age and over, with the app on their phones are welcome to use the code and please encourage this to take place. The risk assessment requirement of notification still remains.

    • Residential experiences and Activities now available - see Risk Assessment and your own Organisations rules

All the changes along with risks identified and mitigating factors are included in
